பூண்டு -  3 முழு பூண்டு (உரித்தது)
தனியாத் தூள் - 3 டீஸ்பூன்
தேங்காய் -  1/2 கப் (தனியாக அரைத்தது)
புளிக்கரைசல் -  தேவைக்கேற்ப
உப்பு - தேவைக்கேற்ப
நல்லெண்ணெய் -தேவைக்கேற்ப
கருவேப்பிலை - தாளிக்க
கடுகு - தாளிக்க‌
 
தனியாக‌ வதக்கி அரைப்பதற்கு:
 
கடலை பருப்பு - 5 டீஸ்பூன்
அரிசி -  3 டீஸ்பூன்
காய்ந்த மிளகாய் -  8
சின்ன வெங்கயம் -  1 கப் (பொடியாக‌ நறுக்கியது)
தக்காளி - 5 (பொடியாக‌ நறுக்கியது).
செய்முறை:
 
கடாயை அடுப்பில் வைத்து  எண்ணெய் ஊற்றி கடலை பருப்பு, அரிசி, காய்ந்த மிளகாய், சின்ன வெங்காயம், தக்காளி சேர்த்து பொன்னிறமாக  நன்கு வதக்கவும். பின்னர் இதனை ஆற வைத்து அரைத்து கொள்ளவும்.
 
மற்றொரு கடாயை அடுப்பில் வைத்து  எண்ணெய் ஊற்றி கடுகு, சின்ன வெங்காயம், கருவேப்பிலை சேர்த்து பொன்னிறமாக நன்கு வதக்கவும். வெங்காயம் நன்கு வதங்கிய பின், உரித்த பூண்டு பற்களை(இரண்டாக கீறி கொள்ளவும்) சேர்த்து வதக்கவும்.
 
இந்த கலவை நன்கு வதங்கியதும் பொடியாக நறுக்கிய தக்காளி சேர்த்து, தக்காளி மசியும் வரை வதக்கவும். பின்னர் அரைத்த தக்காளி -  வெங்காய  கலவை, மல்லி பொடி, ஒரு குழி கரண்டி நல்லெண்ணெய் சேர்த்து பொன்னிறமாக வதக்கவும்.
 
இவையனைத்தும் வதங்கியதும், அரைத்த தேங்காய், தேவைக்கேற்ப புளிக்கரைசல் மற்றும் தண்ணீர் சேர்த்து எண்ணெய் பிரியும் வரை  கொதிக்க வைத்து இறக்கவும்.
